Privacy notice

We process this information to respond to your enquiry and, where it leads to work, to provide the services you have asked about. Under POPIA our lawful basis is that processing is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract, and our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us.

We do not use your details for marketing unless you separately ask us to.

What you send us is read by FRMS staff. Because the website collects nothing, the only service provider (operator, in POPIA's terms) involved is the one that carries our email, and it processes the information on our instructions only:

• Email and mailbox provider

  Carries and stores the messages you send us, in the same way as any email provider. They see the contents of your message in transit and at rest in our mailbox.

• Website hosting

  Serves the pages of this site. It receives no enquiry information, because there is nothing on the site to submit.

Some of these providers operate servers outside South Africa. Where personal information is transferred across a border, we rely on the provider being subject to laws or binding agreements that give protection substantially similar to POPIA, as required by section 72.

We keep correspondence for as long as it is needed to deal with your enquiry and any work arising from it, and afterwards for the period below so we have a record of what was asked and advised. After that it is deleted.

Correspondence is kept for 3 years from your last contact with us, then deleted.

Under POPIA you have the right to:

• Ask what personal information we hold about you, and be given a copy of it
• Ask us to correct or delete information that is inaccurate, irrelevant, excessive, out of date or obtained unlawfully
• Object to our processing of your information on reasonable grounds
• Withdraw any consent you have given, at any time
• Complain to the Information Regulator

To exercise any of these, email us at the address below. We will respond as soon as we reasonably can. There is no charge for a request unless it is manifestly excessive.

This website is served over an encrypted connection. Correspondence you send us is accessible only to FRMS staff who need it in order to respond. We keep the number of copies to a minimum and hold no payment or financial information through this website.

This website sets no cookies and runs no advertising or cross-site tracking scripts. If website analytics are added in future, this notice will be updated first and any consent required will be requested at that point.
